WHY LASP?

LASP allows you to think critically about your Latin American experience by connecting your surroundings with your classroom discussions. It’s sipping a cup of coffee while developing relationships through a common language. It’s a local restaurant owner teaching you about real-life international business. It’s your homestay family expanding your understanding of faith and society.  It’s walking the streets of San Jose with Costa Rican academics before learning to dance salsa.  LASP bridges the gap between the classroom and the world.

The LASP academic program offers a range of experiential education options, with immersive field experiences directly connected to your academic pursuits, intensive Spanish language courses fit to your level, international (Central America) and domestic (Costa RIca) travel that enhances the traditional classroom setting, and a wide variety of regional guest lecturers.

During LASP, you’ll encounter new voices of praise, different approaches to international affairs, social virtue, poverty and faith. As you live with host families, allow the day-to-day realities of Latin American life to permeate your perspectives. Interact in Spanish with politicians, forward-thinking business owners, rural farmers and church leaders. Then develop your own voice, one that will serve you in your vocation, ongoing education and spiritual growth.

And the beauty of it all?  LASP does this in the context of Central America, offering you the opportunity to travel, engage, learn and explore the natural landscapes, cities, foods and cultures unique to each location.

Come live this adventure with LASP!
